Hi, I'm Amelia! I'm a full time student and beauty blogger living and working in the Southeast United States. I'm originally from England and hoping to move back to the UK soon. I'm an absolute beauty junkie (not helped by the fact that I work at a Cosmetics Company Store) and Harry Potter fanatic. If you want to get to know me better, you can read this post.

May Favourites

Hey loves! It's June, which means another month of 2016 is over (which is freakin' insane) and it's time to talk about the things I've been loving this month! I've discovered a BUNCH of new favourites because I've been a wee bit of a shopaholic, whoops.

Colourpop dropped their collection of new lippie stix in the Matte X formula and I grabbed the four most boring Amelia-like shades, of course. I ended up going for Pillow Talk, Chateau, She Bad, and Cami. This formula is absolutely amazing. If you've ever tried their original mattes, you know that they are quite creamy and not really that matte. These, however, and super matte. They feel almost powdery, but still somehow creamy and not uncomfortable. The greatest thing about them though is that they last forever. I'm completely in love and if I liked the rest of the shades I would snatch them all up (pinks are not my thing).

This month has been a Glossier month. I recently posted about the Phase 2 Collection, and have since been buying like crazy. I'm still loving the Boy Brow and the Stretch Concealer, but have also added two of the Balm Dotcom to my every day routine. I have the regular and the mint flavour (which  tend to throw in my purse) and I absolutely adore these. They are super moisturizing, and if you put enough on a little glossy. You can also use them on your cuticles (amazing) and on any other dry skin so they are super convenient! I have a link for 20% off your first purchase if you click here!

I've been all about light makeup and glowy skin recently, so the MAC Studio Waterweight Foundation has been a love as well. I have the shade NC20 which is like the teeniest bit too dark for my pale ass, but I make it work. I'm not kidding when I say that this foundation is the best I've ever used. It's a super watery consistency that blends seamlessly into the skin (especially with a beautyblender, ugh) and makes your skin look beautiful. It's kind of a satiny-matte finish so it looks very natural, but isn't going to slide off of your face after an hour. It was top choice at Fashion Week last fall, so we know it's good. I will say that it's not full coverage enough to cover up blemishes (is anything, really?) so you'll probably want to spot conceal. I generally recommend using a lightweight foundation and spot concealing anyway, to let your skin breathe.

Now to REALLY get that glow, I've been going bronzer and highlighter crazy. Desi has been talking about the elf Bronzer palette so I hauled my butt to Target and snatched it up. In case you haven't noticed, I'm a pale princess and Desi is a bronzed goddess. But, I still absolutely adore this palette. I mix all of the shades together and make sure to use a light hand, but it makes my skin look so healthy. For $6, I'm amazed at the quality. I've never been a bronzer person, but I even add a touch of this to my skin on no makeup days now. Also, the packaging is bomb (gigantic mirror, thank you). As for highlighter, I've been sticking to the good ol' Mary Loumanizer from theBalm. You guys know I love this and you can read more about it here.

I use a million different mascaras at once like always, but I've found myself reaching for the Revlon Ultra Volume Mascara quite a lot. It's not too wet, which I love, and gives quite a bit of volume without getting all clumpy. It also layers beautifully (we all know I layer mascaras like there's no tomorrow). My Back-to-Mac bag was overflowing so I went to pick out a new lipstick, yay! I've never been that interested in Whirl, but they had like four testers out for some reason and I just kept picking it up. I though, "alright, that's fate," and walked away with the Kylie fave (cringe). I don't think I've ever been complimented so often on a lipstick. Even my boyfriend told me it was a really nice colour. So, despite the Kylie-hype I think this is one that everyone should have in their lip wardrobe!

This month I finally tried out the ABH eyeshadow singles for the first time and I am absolutely in love! I picked up a quad, but I'm going to write a separate post on these so I'll leave the loving for that.

What have you been loving this month? Let me know!

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Collection

I know this collection has been out for a while and got a lot of hype, but I'm someone who generally waits for the buzz to die down before trying something new. The other day in Sephora, I was browsing the skincare section and came across this little Tarte Rainforest of the Sea set, and for $22, I snatched it up.

The set comes with the Drink of H2O Hydrating Boost, Deep Dive Cleansing Gel, Marine Boosting 4-in-1 Mist, BB Tinted Treatment Primer (I got the set with the shade Light), Amazonian Clay Blush in Oasis, and the Lights Camera Lashes mascara. I was really most interested in trying the skincare items, and was not disappointed. The Deep Dive Cleansing Gel is really wonderful, and I am definitely considering buying the full size. It's a thick gel that lathers a little, and surprisingly removes makeup very well. I'm definitely new to using gels and balms to remove makeup (I've been trialing Clinique's Take the Day Off Balm), but I really really like how quickly they get all of my makeup off. My favourite thing about this is that it leaves no residue behind on my skin, but also doesn't leave it really dry. I typically find with cleansers I get one or the other, but this one is golden!

The Drink of H2O Hydrating Boost is an interesting moisturizer. It's very light, and gel-based so super refreshing and cool when you put it on. I typically use heavier creams, especially at night, but this one is so hydrating! It also absorbs really easily into the skin, so in the morning my skin is very hydrated, but isn't covered in nasty residue. The full size of this is quite expensive, so I'll probably just continue using the millions of moisturizers I already have. The Marine Boosting Mist is one that I haven't really used much, as I need my makeup to last through very long shifts. But I imagine in the summer months when I'm not wearing makeup, this will be lovely and refreshing.

I've never been a lover of BB Creams or tinted moisturizers, but I've used nothing but the BB Tinted Treatment Primer since buying this set. I'm definitely going to buy the full size, but I think I'll go for the shade Fair instead of Light (which came in this set). It provides more coverage than I thought, and beautifully evens out my skin while still looking like I'm not wearing any makeup. I was amazed by how much it brightens up my skin, and with a bit of added concealer I look like I have perfect skin! It also sets to a silky-satin almost powdery finish, so it definitely wears for far longer than a normal BB cream would. In love!

The Amazonian Clay Blush in Oasis is a gorgeous colour, and as we all know, Tarte's blush formula is to die for. I think this colour is exclusive to the set, as far as I can find. Lights, Camera, Lashes is a wonderful mascara, so I'm glad for another little tube (and I much prefer the packaging of the minis).

All around, this set is wonderful, and I've definitely discovered some products that I absolutely adore. Have you tried any of Tarte's newer products? What did you think?

Glossier Phase 2

The day this package arrived I was freaking out. In case you've been living under a rock, Glossier launched Phase 2 of their collection, a makeup line. The products are "no-fuss" and designed to showcase your natural beauty instead of covering it up. The collection consists of the Stretch Concealer, ever popular Boy Brow, and Generation G lipsticks. The concealer comes in 5 shades, the Boy Brow 3, and the lipsticks have 4 shades.

The Stretch Concealer retails on its own for $18, I got the shade light. It's a lightweight "flexible" concealer that's supposed to move with your skin. It's such a different texture from anything I've used. It's super creamy and almost oily (?) feeling between your fingers. It's definitely one for if you have dry undereyes, this will make them look dewy and fresh! I have quite dewy undereyes already (thanks, glasses), so I set it with a powder and am out the door!

The Boy Brow retails for $16 and has been in high demand since they sold out after the launch. It's a creamy kind of wax that really helps to hold your brow hairs in place and tint them a little. I will say that unless you have flawless brows or are having a no-makeup-makeup day, you won't be using this on it's own. I have quite dark hair, but very thin almost blonde brows. So I fill them in with my Anastasia DipBrow like I usually would, and set them with this. I got the shade Brunette. I've talked about my love for the elf Clear Mascara, that stuff can't hold a candle to the longevity of the Boy Brow. New. Love.

The Generation G is the greatest thing I've ever put on my lips, ever. They retail for $18, and I got the shade Cake to try out. They're sheer lip-tint-balm things, but they're MATTE. I don't really know how to explain the awesomeness without you guys actually trying them. They feel like absolutely nothing on the lips, and it looks like you naturally have a gorgeous pigment. I want them all.

So you can order products separately, or you can get the Phase 2 set for $50. And, exciting news, I have a link to get you 20% off your first order! That would make the set $40. If you click here, you can use the coupon. This is an affiliate link, if you choose not to use it, you can just go to Glossier's website.

Have you guys tried anything from Glossier yet? I've ordered some skincare goodies already!

Colourpop

Another day, another order from Colourpop. I think I might have a serious problem, I spend a majority of my time looking up swatches. This time around I got four Ultra Matte Lips and three Super Shock Shadows. First up is Chi, part of the KaePop collection. It's a "nude beige" which is quite a lot darker than I expected. Chi also has gold packaging which I think is really elegant! I also got Tulle, a "dusty burgundy." This one looks very dark on me, and quite brown toned (although it looks lighter in the picture). Stingraye is a part of itsmyraerae's collection, a "cool mauve toned brown." This is one of those colours that looks absolutely different on every swatch I saw. On me, it definitely pulls dark pink, but still has mauve tones. I wouldn't call it a brown. My favourite of this lot is Trap, a "dusty greyed out beige." This one is a true beaut, and one I've gotten many a compliment on.

I also picked up Weenie, how great is that name? It's a rose gold that is gorgeous, but VERY similar to LaLa. I own both, oops. Puppy Love (which is no longer available) is the shadow that benefits the NKLA effort of the Best Friends Animal Society. All proceeds from the sale are donated to the charity. This one is a nice peachy-champagne. Last but not least is Boy Band, which apparently isn't available anymore (similar to Game Face or On The Rocks). It's a coppery-orange-red.
That's all I got this time around, what do I need on the next shopping spree?
