Hi, I'm Amelia! I'm a full time student and beauty blogger living and working in the Southeast United States. I'm originally from England and hoping to move back to the UK soon. I'm an absolute beauty junkie (not helped by the fact that I work at a Cosmetics Company Store) and Harry Potter fanatic. If you want to get to know me better, you can read this post.

The Weekend Wardrobe

Weekend days that I don't have to work are rare, but blissful. And those days are ALL about comfort. This is one of my comfier outfits, jeans and a t. Simple, don't have to think about it, throw on some sandals and a red lip, and you can almost call it put together. I'm sticking to the philosophy that a red lip makes ANYTHING look put together.

This tshirt I'm wearing is from Gap and may be the most comfortable thing I have ever put on my body.  Sure, it's boring but has a super flattering fit to boot. My jeans are the Legging jean from Gap, which I loved. Past tense. Alas after wearing them for a day, they stretched out and extra size. Or two. Which I think is ridiculous for a semi-expensive pair of jeans so right back to the store they went, despite my love. I'm that person. My watch is a clearance snag from Anthropologie (I can only find the nude version online), I'm wearing an Alex and Ani bangle, and my ghost beads. These suckers have been on my wrist for about 8 years and I have never taken them off. I'm not super sure where you can even find them but they ward off evil spirits, or so they say. On my lips I'm wearing Kate Moss for Rimmel London 107, for which I have a post here.

What do you like to wear on the weekends?

Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Mascara

So, I'm one of those weirdos that likes a really dry mascara formula. I'll admit, when I first tried this beauty out, I hated it. The formula was way too wet which is too much for my poor lashes and they ended up clumpy and heavy. However, after a few weeks of dry time, I'm in love.

The silver packaging is absolutely gorgeous, and it contains my favourite type of mascara wand: HUGE. The wand has little spheres as well as straight bristles so your lashes are evenly coated. The bristles grab onto each lash giving volume and length. It also separates quite nicely which is my no. 1 quality in a good mascara. My lashes are BFFs and like to wrap around each-other which is endlessly annoying. Anywho, in general this is a reaaaaally great mascara, I just wish we could buy it in the states, boo.

You can find this beauty in Superdrug for £9.99 and Feel Unique ships to the US for $17.48. You can also find it on the US ASOS website (not sure about in store) for $19.35. I've also heard that some Urban Outfitters have begun to stock Bourjois, although my localish one has not.

Have you guys tried this mascara? What's your verdict?

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation

My new HOLY GRAIL foundation, I absolutely love this stuff. I picked this up from England (there's a lot in that stash) and it's one that I'm very glad I did. Rimmel claims  "A match so perfect, it's undetectable in any light! Light Perfecting radiance foundation Traceless coverage and perfectly flawless skin under any light, lasts all day, SPF 18." It's Rimmel cheap with great packaging and an awesome product inside. The packing in the UK is this sleek glass bottle with a blue lid. It has the best pump I've ever used (who doesn't love a pump foundation?). In the US, however, it doesn't currently have a pump as far as I've seen.

The formula of the foundation is quite runny and a little thin so it's great for buildability. It sets to a beautiful satin finish that wears like true skin. I set my t-zone with a powder when using this, but if you have dryer skin, you probably won't need to. On the other hand, those of you with oilier skin might want to avoid this, unless you have a great setting powder. By the end of the day, my skin is definitely pretty glowy, but in a pretty sort of way if you know what I mean. The colour and coverage itself lasts great throughout the day which is surprising because I usually get pretty red cheeks.

The only problem I have with this foundation is the shade range. In the UK, they have quite a lot of colours, but as far as I saw they were all in the medium to light range. In the US, I've only seen four shades. I have the shade 100 Ivory which I believe is the second to lightest. It is a tad dark, so I'll probably have to mix it in the winter. However, the lightest looked a little too light for me and is very pink-toned. Overall, I do really love it, although I definitely don't think it's a very universal foundation. You can find it in Superdrug for £4.99 on offer right now. Walmart does have several shades online at $4.97, but my stores seem to only stock four shades at the most. Ulta has three shades at $5.99 and I haven't found it in any Targets yet.
Have you guys tried this beauty yet? What are your thoughts?

Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish Matte Lipstick #107

I'm usually not one for mattes, but I just had to try out this famous shade. Usually, mattes are really drying, but this formula is great. It wears nicely on the lips and doesn't feel heavy. The finish is velvety smooth and stays that way all day. It's also super buildable, this swatch is just one quick swipe, but you can build it up to a beautiful dark berry. It's the perfect, rich colour for the winter months and will definitely be a favourite for me.

I picked this up in the Factory Store for £2 but you can find it at Boots or Superdrug for £5.49 and at Wally World for $4.97

What's your favourite shade from this collection?

Keep the Ones You Love Close

My best friends are leaving for school again this week. My college is close to our hometown, but they all live hours away from here. This makes me immensely sad because I'm so close to these people and I won't get to see them for a while.

I promise this isn't going to be a sappy post about how sad I am. Because, even though I am sad, it's also a celebration of our friendships that we are even closer despite the distance. I know in the back of my mind I'll still talk to them every day and see them over breaks. I guess it's just nice to know that these are lifetime friends, and even if we end up moving across the country when we're older I think we'll always pick up where we left off.

I just needed a vent

Barry M Almond

Sorry about the shadow-y photo but how gorgeous is this polish? It's the perfect chic greig-y colour that has just enough lilac to make it interesting. The Gelly Hi Shine formula is beautifully shiny and if you can get your hands on this you need to pick it up! I almost left it but I'm so glad I stuck it in my basket.

I've gotten so many compliments while wearing this, including from one of my male coworkers which the rest of us got a kick out of.

Have you guys tried the Barry M Gellys? I love them so far!

I'm Back!

I'm finally back home after a long long day of traveling and a wonderful holiday! This is all of the makeup I bought while in England, and I sort of restrained myself... I have a problem. Expect reviews of all of these coming up soon!
