Hi, I'm Amelia! I'm a full time student and beauty blogger living and working in the Southeast United States. I'm originally from England and hoping to move back to the UK soon. I'm an absolute beauty junkie (not helped by the fact that I work at a Cosmetics Company Store) and Harry Potter fanatic. If you want to get to know me better, you can read this post.

Taking Stock 01

I don't know if you guys read the daybook blog, but Sydney is probably my favourite person ever. She's been doing these "taking stock" posts, and I really enjoy them so hopefully you lot will too!

Making: a new blog header, you like?
Cooking: peas and french fries... don't judge
Drinking: water in an attempt to be healthy(ish)
Reading: The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks, a million times better than the movie
Wanting: summer. Not the season, I hate hot weather, I just want school to be over
Looking: at things I can't afford... a dangerous habit
Playing: my cards right so that I can pass my exams (does that count?)
Wasting: my life studying... it's sad
Wishing: for my friends to come home from school... one week left!
Enjoying: this slightly sunny, slightly stormy weather we're having
Waiting: for our trip to England this summer, too excited
Liking: the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer... even if it's not really pale enough
Wondering: if I should change my major
Loving: my wonderful friends
Hoping: that healthy chocolate will be invented in the near future
Marveling: at how green everything has suddenly become
Needing: a pool in my backyard, stat
Smelling: nothing really, fresh air?
Wearing: yoga pants and a giant Eeyore tshirt that might be older than me... don't judge
Following: no one but myself, I'm no follower (cheesy don't hate me)
Noticing: a stronger, slimmer me
Knowing: I can make tomorrow better
Thinking: I really should stop eating french fries if I'm trying to be healthy
Feeling: lonely
Bookmarking: everything I find on Pinterest
Opening: my bank account and crying
Giggling: at these ridiculous snap chats

A Big Change

Oops... I cut only about 9 inches of my hair off....
I actually really love it... which is odd because I usually hate my hair short. But I needed something new and I am really happy! What do you guys think? No more braids, ponytails, or messy buns for a while!

Better Than Butter... Maybe

LOOK HOW PRETTY THAT IS. So, I have a haul coming out on the channel tomorrow, but I had to share this with you guys because I am in love. Coming from someone who hates lipstick... I bought two of the new-ish NYX Butter Lipsticks. This beauty is called Sweet Tart. There's just something about it that I'm in love with. I also got Mary Janes... which I'm not a fan of unfortunately

Anywho, these lipsticks are super lightweight and feel amazing on the lips, while still providing plenty of coverage. I only just got it so obviously I haven't tested wear but apparently you can get a good 4-6 hours out of it. The pigmentation is pretty buildable as well, but I prefer the way this one comes out of it's own. I wasn't a fan of the color of Mary Jane, but this one is the perfect pink... it's not too bright, but it's not the same colour as by lips. So far in love!

Have you guys tried any of these yet? Which is your favourite?

New York

Back in January, my sister and I asked to go to New York for our birthdays, and our parents said YES! We only went for two days because of school, but it was amazing. Now because we were only going for two days, we decided not to check luggage. So, I didn't get to take my camera. I do have some iPhone shots to show you, but worry not because I'm planning to go back this summer with my best friend Dylan, and there WILL be plenty of pictures.

We stayed at the Pod Hotel on 51st street, which was surprisingly nice for the price, and super close to the parts of town we wanted to go to. Our flight left at 6AM, so arrived in the city for brunch, after checking into the hotel, we went around the corner to Ess-A-Bagel for lunch. It's this really old family-owned business that is super busy but has the BEST bagels I've ever tasted. The variety is insane, and they are such a good price. Anyway, we of course tried a bunch of coffee shops as well. Treehaus and Maison Kaiser were definitely our favourites, but we also went to Blue Bottle Coffee, and a few others that I absolutely cannot remember the names of! We went to Heartland Brewery for dinner on the first night, since it was just under the Empire State Building, it was yummy.

On the first day we went down to Chelsea to walk around where I found this vintage jacket I seriously regret not buying. We also went to the 9/11 memorial which was breathtaking and very sad. Afterwards, we climbed up the Empire State Building, the line for the second elevator was far too long, so we made the hike! It was totally worth it in the end because we saw the sunset from the top! After we went to dinner, we went to Times Square which I wasn't super-impressed with for some reason. I did get some Inglot goodies thought!

We went to the Met the next day which was absolutely mind-blowing, even though we only got to see part of it and the people that work there are EXTREMELY rude. After that, we walked back through Central Park where it SNOWED! It was so much fun, although we got drenched. And then we went to Fifth Avenue quickly to do some shopping before the flight home. Overall, it was the perfect get away weekend and I can't wait to go back.

Okay, here's some of my iPhone snaps...
