Hi, I'm Amelia! I'm a full time student and beauty blogger living and working in the Southeast United States. I'm originally from England and hoping to move back to the UK soon. I'm an absolute beauty junkie (not helped by the fact that I work at a Cosmetics Company Store) and Harry Potter fanatic. If you want to get to know me better, you can read this post.

About Me!

So I'm currently sitting in Panera, 'doing my homework' all by my lonesome. Now I'm very obviously not doing my homework at all, but instead decided to write a blog post. I don't have any products with me obviously and I would probably look slightly weird whipping out my camera and taking pictures of makeup (I've already gotten some funny looks for editing videos), so I'm going to tell you some things about myself that may or may not interest you....
being super artsy ya know

my lovely family

My first name is Amelia (I hope you knew this already) and my middle is Grace. When I was little I used to pretend that my full first name was Amelia-Grace because I liked it so much and wanted to be one of those cool kids with a hyphenated name. It never worked. I'm 18 years old, almost 19 eek. I can't even process the fact that I've been alive for 18 years, let alone the fact that I'm considered an adult, I still feel like I should be about 8. I'm from a teeny little town in Southern England called Dersingham, I lived there until I was actually 8, which is when we moved to the US. I now live in the dirty south, which is not really a place where British people exactly fit in. I'm currently (as of Spring 2014) in my second semester of my Freshman year in college. I still can't believe I'm in college (I obviously don't want to grow up at all). I'm working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts which is kind of like a step up from Bachelor of Arts, my concentration being Graphic Design. My dream is to work for Seventeen Magazine (hey Ann Shoket, hire me?). I'm hoping to transfer to NYU for my Senior year of college.

My favorite color is purple, the kind that's not quite lilac, but almost white. Also I really like the kind that's almost black. I have two dachshunds, Dave and Charlie; the latter of which is our little rescue baby. My favorite food is pasta and I've been a vegetarian for 11 years, wow! I have two younger sisters. One of which is currently 18, we're not twins but "Irish twins", our birthdays are 11 months apart so for a month and three days we are the same age. My other sister is 15, which is kind of unbelievable to me because she still seems like the baby. I'm single and ready to mingle. Not really I think I'm too awkward and far too busy for any sort of relationship at the moment, thank you very much. I'm 5'9" last time I checked, yes I'm that girl in the friend group that's always awkwardly tall in the friend group, and taller than half the boys. It's rather annoying, but I try to work it. My favorite blogs are Cupcakes and Cashmere and Paperfashion, I'm obsessed with those.

All right I think I've sufficiently bored you, so that's it for now

Naked 2

Okay, so I'm about to confess un unpopular opinion; I don't like the Naked 3 palette. Oops. I just think that all those pinky colors are not going to be flattering for me and I will never use them. Unpopular opinion numero dos; I actually like the Naked 2 palette more than the third. So, with the money I got from my family for Christmas, I bought it.
I was originally going to Ulta to pick up the Lorac Pro palette, but lo and behold, they were out, and I was very sad. So, unable to wait or control myself in the slightest, I snatched up the Naked 2 palette and brought it home with me. And I'm so glad I did. For some reason, this palette doesn't have great reviews. I'm slightly unsure as to why this one got no love and the Naked 3 is being raved about. To me, the shades in 3 are far too pink toned to work for most people, and some of the shades are glittery and bad quality. While I love the shade Blackheart, the others in the palette seem lackluster in comparison. I adored the first palette, but the colors are very warm toned which isn't the most flattering on my skin. I think that the Naked 2 palette is so universally flattering with the taupe-y shades and much more wearable for every day. The shades are matte and frosted versus the crazy glittery shades in the other two and I just think it's much more worth the $52 Urban Decay charges. Now, I've only used this once so I can't really give a proper in depth review, but from what I've seen, this is my new favorite palette, I wore Snakebite, Suspect, Busted, and Blackout today. I worked for 10 hours and they didn't budge. I did also use my UD Primer Potion just to be sure. As a first impression though, I love the choice in shades and how well each of these shades comes across on the skin.

In love!

Christmas Eve!

Alright lovelies, it's the most exciting night of the year Christmas Eve! I'm all cuddled up in my new pajamas and surprisingly, I am absolutely exhausted. Usually, this is the night that I'm up until all hours because I am far too excited to go to sleep. While I am still uber-excited, it's not even ten o'clock and my eyes are drooping. So, maybe this is the first Christmas that I will actually get more than 5 hours of sleep before! Goodnight my dears, let their be visions of sugarplums in your dreams

xx

Amelia Says...

I think that it might be time to give my little bloggy another go. You see, I'm just about to finish my first semester of college, therefore, blogging and YouTube have taken a rather large step back in terms of importance. But, it is almost winter holidays, which means an entire month with no school (albeit lots of work eek)! So, let's see if I can actually keep up with this. Maybe I'll try a once a week goal. The problem is, you see, that I hardly ever buy new makeup anymore (broke college student here) so content on the blog may become slightly unrelated. But, how about we just see what happens?
